When you have decided on an interior style that you love, keep these in mind.
1. COLOURS AND SPACE
For example, a softer and soothing colour such as cool blue with large windows allow natural light to come in but strong colours on a short wall decrease the depth but increases the width.
2. LIGHTING
Choose warm light over day light to create a more relaxing and soothing ambiance. The lighting can always be the focal point of the room. It enhances your home style and complements the interiors.
3. TEXTURE AND PATTERN
There are plenty of ways of tricking the eyes into interpreting the space size. For instance, vertical lines draw the eye upwards, increasing the feeling of height; horizontal lines bring the height down but increase the feeling of width.
4. FURNITURE
Size does matter. Oversized furniture in a small space not only makes the room appear cluttered, it also makes it hard to move around. While small-sized furniture does the same to a large space, too much empty space will make you feel vulnerable and uncomfortable.
