As we host open houses and year end parties, many of us prepare festive dishes. However, most of them are Western themed and can be tedious to find and prepare. Here are some takes on Asian dishes you can make for your friends and family.
1. SOUP
Make an Asian soup that is coconut or tomato based. Add spices and the meat of your choice, and a dash of spice for that extra oomph!
2. MAINS
Instead of the usual turkey, opt for chicken instead and glaze it with some sesame or hoisin sauce for the Asian touch. Add local grilled vegetables likes brinjals and local potatoes.
3. SALAD
Make a chickpea salad and add local pomegranates and lime for a zesty taste.
4. DESSERT
Instead of the usual cakes, opt for healthy dessert like a mango pudding topped with chia seeds and Greek yoghurt.
